1. Head Engineer
Aloita Resort is looking for an experienced and hands-on Head Engineer to lead our engineering and maintenance operations and ensure the resort’s facilities and technical systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily engineering, maintenance, and technical operations throughout the resort.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure proper operation of electrical systems, generators, AC, plumbing, pumps, water systems, and other equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and identify, prioritize, and follow up on maintenance issues.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the engineering team.
- Maintain maintenance records, equipment logs, checklists, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Manage engineering tools, spare parts, and technical inventory.
- Coordinate with external contractors and technicians when required.
- Monitor energy, water, and utility consumption and identify improvement opportunities.
- Respond to technical emergencies, breakdowns, and operational issues.
- Ensure engineering work follows safety standards and resort procedures.
- Support renovation, construction, improvement, and maintenance projects.
- Provide regular maintenance updates and reports to management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years of engineering or maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality.
- Previous experience as Chief Engineer, Engineering Supervisor, or Head Engineer is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, AC, generator, pump, and water systems.
- Experience leading and supervising a technical team.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational and reporting skills.
- Safety-conscious with attention to detail.
- Good command of English is an advantage.
- Hands-on, practical, flexible, and resourceful.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote island environment.
